Cost Per Booked Consultation (CPBC)
What your marketing costs to land one qualified appointment: total spend divided by booked appointments.
Definition
Cost Per Booked Consultation is the average marketing cost to land one qualified appointment on your calendar, found by dividing total spend by the number of appointments booked. It's a sharper number than cost per lead because it counts only the inquiries that actually became booked appointments.
In depth
CPBC breaks down into two parts: what each lead costs, and the rate at which those leads turn into booked appointments. Improve either one and the cost falls. Faster follow-up and better-matched search traffic usually move it more than a bigger budget does.
It's also the fairest way to compare channels. A shared-lead site, a paid search campaign and organic search can look wildly different on cost per lead and land much closer together, or much further apart, once you count only the appointments that booked.
The formula
CPBC = Total Ad Spend ÷ Booked Appointments (equivalently, CPL ÷ booking rate) Worked example
Spend $4,000 in a month that books 8 appointments and your CPBC is $500. Lift the booking rate so the same spend books 10, and CPBC drops to $400.
